Lyricus Maximus: _______________________
"What If"
--- 1st verse: Let me take you through to a place I know. Where the river runs and the trees hang low. We can spend the time doing nothing if you want to play. We can stay all day.
Chorus: What if the sun refused to shine. What if you said you would be mine. What if the sky came down, and took it all away. But if you'd be mine, that would be so fine.
--- 2nd verse: We could take some spice, that would be so nice. And if you have the time, we could do it twice. Laying on our backs and watching faces in the sky. I smile, but don't ask why.
Chorus: What if the sun refused to shine. (etc)
--- Third verse: SOLOS
Chorus: What if the sun refused to shine. (etc. Repeat twice) |

LYRICS TO- "COME HOME"
_________
Verse 1:
Take a slice of 'humble pie'. Add a shot of 'bitter sweet' Then it hits you in the eye. Knocks you off your feet.
Seven times, I told the moon "keep it to yourself" --- Verse 2.
Gotta be a better way. Taking chances where we can. Now I'm trying every day. Just to work it out.
Crying helpless in the night. You don't know what you've done.
--- Verse 3. Dunno how we got this far. Seems like only yesterday. We were driving in your car. You never said a word.
I've seen this kind of thing before. But never on my own --------- Tag. Baby, please come home. (I'm begging you) Baby, please come home (won't you?) baby, please come home.
--------- Bridge.
I float away, on a sunny day. And I find myself, all alone. It's been too long, I'm not feeling strong. I can't stand the pain, anymore. -------- Verse 4:
Take a slice of 'humble pie'. Add a shot of 'bitter sweet' Then it hits you in the eye. Knocks you off your feet.
Seven times, I told the moon "keep it to yourself" --- Verse 5.
Gotta be a better way. Taking chances where we can. Now I'm trying every day. Just to work it out.
Crying helpless in the night. You don't know what you've done. ------- Tag. Baby, please come home. (I'm begging you) Baby, please come home (won't you?) baby, please come home.
(verse 4 and 5 - more lyrics. Otherwise just repeat first two)

THIS IS EPIC. ! !
Jason - I have all the composite files to rebuild this if you think it needs it. Phil - YOU MUST do a massive dirty guitar solo in the middle of this ! - it's gotta be done.
I reckon that we could make a "master track' using the actual recording (it seems good enough) but maybe we could overdub some singing, more 'up' in the mix and more harmonies.
WOW - just heard it on my big speakers and it gave me goosebumps.

this one i have a melody for which is really sweet, but it needs to be condensed and made less spooky and probably needs a second part writing.

HAPPY _______
V1. Let me take you back to the place that we started Never felt the lack of loving between till we parted. How we got to this. Secrets and lies that surround you All sealed with a kiss. I struggle to believe that it's all true. --- Ch. But I know it makes me happy doing come what may. And I know it makes you happy (I didn't like to say). Thinking of what could have been is just a waste of time. Now you have to realise that you will not be mine. --- V2. Standing in the rain I've got the time to reflect now. Pushing back the pain You've got the chance to accept how much you did me wrong. Couldn't have tried any better Where do I belong? Didn't you read my letter?. --- Ch. But I know it makes me happy doing come what may. And I know it makes you happy (I didn't like to say). Thinking of what could have been is just a waste of time. Now you have to realise that you will not be mine. ---

Here's a re-work of that old favourite "motherfunker" into a new tune called "The Big Deal" - featuring the 'rising minor third' chord progression I'm always on about. Simple when you hear it. It rises by a minor third three times from the root and returns to the original by default. It does this twice. This version needs a LOT of solos and other bits and bobs on it, but it gives a flavour. I LOVE this track.

this is the faster version of happy, with guitars recorded thru the pickup instead of mic, is bit jangly
i like the big deal tune, think that'll be the easiest to do lyrics for..
